Work-Based Learning Programs

The Role of The Bridge of Southern New Mexico

The Bridge of Southern New Mexico serves as a critical connector between education, workforce training, and regional industry needs. Our role is to create accessible, flexible pathways that prepare individuals for high-demand careers while strengthening the local workforce.

MicroLearning

We work with employers to design and support pre-apprenticeship programs that introduce participants to career pathways and industry expectations. These programs build foundational skills, increase confidence, and provide a guided on-ramp into registered apprenticeships or direct employment. By aligning training with employer needs, we help participants transition smoothly into sustainable careers.

Work-Based Learning

The Bridge in conjunction with DACC and NMSU Global leverages microlearning to deliver targeted, bite-sized training that is flexible, accessible, and responsive to workforce demands. These short, focused learning modules allow individuals to quickly gain specific skills or credentials, making it easier to upskill, reskill, and remain competitive in a rapidly changing job market.

Pre-Apprenticeships

We collaborate with regional employers and area school districts to expand meaningful work-based learning opportunities, including internships, job shadowing, and on-the-job training. By partnering directly with schools, we help integrate workforce experiences into students’ educational journeys, ensuring they graduate with both academic knowledge and practical skills. These experiences provide participants with real-world exposure, professional connections, and hands-on learning while helping employers develop and retain local talent.
