Leading Change That Changes The Future

The Bridge of Southern New Mexico is guided by a very clear mission and vision, as well as achievable and measurable goals and strategic objectives. And we succeed because of the innovative and powerful group of public and private sector leaders who comprise our board of directors.

Our Mission

To facilitate collaboration and leverage resources between public and private sectors to support educational excellence and optimize the workforce in Doña Ana County and the region.

Our Vision

Doña Ana County become a “county of excellence” in career-connected learning, advancing innovation and opportunity through strong partnerships among all in the talent development pipeline.

Our Goals

By 2026, Dona Ana County will have clearly defined career pathways for students and young adults leading to high-value occupations (higher-wage, in-demand, growing) in each of the for students and young adults leading to industries targeted for economic development.

Strategic Objectives

Full awareness of employment and economic opportunities for students and families

  • Bridge2Careers becomes a focal point for building awareness of occupations
  • The Bridge plays a more active role in creating connections for employers looking for sources of talent
  • Build a quantifiable and comprehensive narrative about the education-to-employment pipeline in Doña Ana County
  • Engage and support parents by leveraging the collective communication programs of all partners
  • Build out more comprehensive career pathways that show progression for adults
  • Bring industry conversations into the classroom

High-quality Career and Technical Education programs that prepare all students for high-value careers and post-secondary credentials in our communities and county

  • Identify industry-recognized credentials of value to employers
  • Support centers of CTE-industry excellence and accessible to all students through innovative transportation and technology solutions
  • Expand career-connected learning across school environments to support increased proficiencies, participation in CTE, and foster deeper connections between core and CTE teachers
  • Support increased partnerships and training for the summer jobs program
  • Support Innovation Zone grant applications for all districts
  • Facilitate increased dual credit, learning, and research opportunities for high school students with higher education partners

Mobilized and engaged employers actively building and investing in their current and future talent

  • Bridge is the driver of increased industry participation in the 5 “ships” of work-based learning
  • Launch capacity-building programs for employers of all sizes to participate in work-based learning
  • Foster deeper relationships between education and employers
  • Steward the voice of industry and economic development in educational environments

Innovative transportation and technology solutions that maximize students’ access to career-connected preparation and training

  • Foster collaboration and competition to increase student access to work-based learning
  • Leverage existing, and grow, technological assets that can support students’ acquisition of hands-on skills training

Hold our position as a thought leader and leading voice for innovation in the county, region, and state

  • Advocate for sustainable, reliable funding streams for industry-critical career-connected infrastructure and instruction
  • Continue partnerships with mission-aligned organizations and efforts that advance our goals
  • Represent Bridge voice and priorities at critical governing boards (education, government, etc.)
